if you are interested in accreditation for jobs I understand why people might attend a university, for learning however you don't need to because you can learn just as much or more from science/technology podcasts, free online MIT open courses / documentaries, audio-books, meterials from teaching company, inexpensive used text books from Amazon or local used book stores, along with Wikipedia encyclopedia
articles, leaked technical books that "all-together" go much farther/faster/cheaper building your library and your knowledge than old fashion brick and mortar university classroom/courses/experiences/acredatetions, you simply get a "bigger-bang-for-your-buck" if you are a self starter focused inqusitive person on a real world budget striking it out on your own and interested in learning, I am talking about real subjects of Math, Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Electronics, Computers, Biology, Astronomy, Phisiology, -anything- ... and the most important thing I learned at university
is the complete assurance/knowledge that I did not need university education at-all in the first place, without attending university to learn this I would always have doubths and might believe that I need uiversity education when in fact I don't, it was an excellent waiste of time (opportunity-cost-of-missed-income) and 85% of required corriculum was social engineering even for computer scientists, not to mention liberal arts majors (100% BS)...
